Advise for a Dental Nurse going from Canada to Australia

Published

I am moving to Australia for 6 months with the possibility of going back after going to a couple weddings abroad.

I have contacted a temp agency but they didn't seem to eager to help me. Any advise would be helpful.

What I already know is how to get my working visa for there but for my licensing do I need to apply for something? My Scottish friend who did it said no.

Where is the best place to work and make money? Also was I would like to work a wee bit with the aboriginals, does anyone know where I could find out more about that. I want to get the most out of my time there.

Thanks you for any help.

Once you get there don't ever come back to the abusive world of Canadian nursing!

That doesn't really help with my questions...

That wasn't helpful and had nothing to do with the question.

Have you checked the AHPRA website?

Dental assistants/nurses are not regulated by AhPRA at all or ANMAC for immigration purposes, they have less education than Enrolled nurses and make much less as well. The Australian dental association is their organisation, but I do not think they have to join/be registered with them.

Assistant

Is a dental nurse like a hygienist? They are governed by their own provincial colleges and are different from dental assistants. I hard all about it from the staff in my dentists the other week.
