Hello everyone. my names jess. im currently a nursing student about to go into my senior year. I have noticed that most of my nusring student peers have landed nursing internships or nursing aide positions. I have tried to apply in my hometown, however, i was not very fortunate in having nursing intership opportunities around me and I dont know why, but i did not land ANY nursing aide position (I applied to over 13 positions at 3 different hospitals)
So this summer, i am not working at a hospital nor working in an area that would be beneficial to me in my nursing career. I am not sure what to do this summer considering that all of my friends are going to have this extra nursing practice. What can i do to keep up with my skills this summer? Just feeling nervous about the future and a little discouraged that i did not land any jobs. does this mean i may not land a nursing job? what kind of qualifications for employers look for in a new graduate nursing application?

Do you have a stable work history? What is your availability like? I wouldn't want to hire a nursing student as an aide knowing that they'd graduate soon ...especially one with no prior experience. Places interested in securing new nurses might think that's a good idea, though.
Yes. Most jobs are outside of hospitals.
