  1. Calling all nurses who have been through the hiring process. I am currently a senior nursing student and i want to make my resume look strong. Are there are key words that may make my application different from other nurses. What kind of activities/ experience do employers look for in newly graduated nurses. currently I am in a national nursing club, I worked as a caregiver for a few months, i have completed over 300 hours of clinical work, I have a few certificates regarding BLS and other academic qualifications. What else is important that makes a nurse seem well rounded on paper?
  2. no i have not. Do you mean places like nursing homes?
  3. this brought a lot of comfort and reassurance by reading this. sometimes the nursing profession can seem realyl intimidating, but im glad that nurses also notice these qualities as well and theyre not overlooked. Its just the act of being a good person and really focusing on what your meant to do during each shift that will make us better nurses. all it takes is a good attitude, doing everything you can for your patient, and being professional.
  4. Hello everyone. my names jess. im currently a nursing student about to go into my senior year. I have noticed that most of my nusring student peers have landed nursing internships or nursing aide positions. I have tried to apply in my hometown, however, i was not very fortunate in having nursing intership opportunities around me and I dont know why, but i did not land ANY nursing aide position (I applied to over 13 positions at 3 different hospitals) So this summer, i am not working at a hospital nor working in an area that would be beneficial to me in my nursing career. I am not sure what to do this summer considering that all of my friends are going to have this extra nursing practice. What can i do to keep up with my skills this summer? Just feeling nervous about the future and a little discouraged that i did not land any jobs. does this mean i may not land a nursing job? what kind of qualifications for employers look for in a new graduate nursing application?
  5. Man: Honey you're never home anymore you should take the day off woman: you should go get a new wife.
  6. I am currently a sophomore nursing student at a very small college. I am not happy where I am because i have not made any friends to provide me with a good support system. I love the thought of nursing, i love the fact we get to spend the most time with patients than any other healthcare profession, I am looking to transfer but it is so hard to find any colleges willing to accept me because i have too many credits under my belt. I am so lost right now. I do not know if I should change my major because i cannot find any other nursing school willing to accept me, but this is the career path I want to take. I currently have a 3.5 GPA not including this semester (I dealt with a a lot of depression this semester and did not focus on my grades and school) If anyone has any input, advice, or guidance they can share with me, I could really use it right now.
