Hi all! just want to share with you my experience on how I received my VT license. Today, as I regularly check VT website about the status of my application, it was such a blessing to see my name on the list of licensed nurse of VT.

To some who have been sending me pm's on the status and how I did about the application to VT and CA application expiring on Jan 20.... Here's the summary:

December 15, 2007: submitted "verification of license" form and an explanation letter with $60 check.....

-----CHECK NOT YET CLEARED AS OF THIS TIME

December 18, 2007: Submitted application to VT with $150 check

MISTAKE: didn't include CA pass letter

December 24, 2007 : VT received application and fees

------ CHECK GOT CLEARED

January 4, 2008: Sent CA BON request for extension of CA-RN application sent thru email, mail and fax

------ NO REPLY

January 8, 2008: Sent VT pass letter from CA

*** EMAILED THEM EVERY WEEK SINCE THEN IF THEY RECEIVED MY PASS LETTER

January 15, 2008: CA bon answered my email and asked if did I sent $10 payment for the transfer of NCLEX results to VT

January 16, 2008: Sent CA bon request for test scores for VT with $10

January 23, 2008: received an email that VT received pass letter

January 24, 2008: VT issued my license:w00t:

I email CA bon almost every 2 days just to know the status of my requests and application.... I got tired of calling them since they only give information based on what they see on the computer and up to now they are telling me that they haven't received any of my request. My CA application is now expired and I don't know if my extension was granted.

I just want to share this to people having the same problems..... VT does not require anything coming from CA Bon. All you need is the pass letter and the application based from my experience.

Thank you to all the advices. This forum is such a blessing to me.

You can have many RN licenses in the US and that is what happens with travel nurses.

Hi Fruity! That's really good news for you! I hope we'll get answers pretty soon. Pls keep logging in so you can help us too with our concerns. Just to brief, so what you sent to VT are the ff: Application, Ca pass letter, $150? Right? Those 3 only? Thanks!

1. application

2. pass letter

3. CGFNS certificate

4. $150

VT does not require the CGFNS exam for licensure.

As long as you are willing to pay the licensing fees, you can have as many as you wish. Licensure and immigration are two very different things.

Immigration just used 61,000 recapped visas in May/June so not sure where they keep getting them from. Those are what were used for the nurses that got their I-485 submitted before the retrogression started in October, 2006 as well as some for those that have been waiting for a period of time.

And as before, when the 50,000 were used for Schedule A; less than 17,000 or so went to nurses, the others were used for their dependents. The 61,000, if they become available, will again cover dependents as well.

"request the director of your school of nursing (or other authorized officer) to complete the

“verification of education” form, and return the form along with a certified copy of your

transcript and clinical transcripts/related learning experience. (not required for applicant’s

applying with cgfns certificate)"

i saw this on vt bon website so i decided to submit cgfns certificate so i don't have to go back and request the school for the other forms.

You already took the CGFNS exam, but for others that are reading here; it is definitely not a requirement for VT.

Just trying to stop any rumors before they start about someone reading that they saw that VT now required the CGFNS exam.

They do not.

The fact that you already had something completed is not the same as it being required.

Thanks Fruity for all the info. Keep us posted every now and then.
