Got my VT License!!

Hi all! just want to share with you my experience on how I received my VT license. Today, as I regularly check VT website about the status of my application, it was such a blessing to see my name on the list of licensed nurse of VT.

To some who have been sending me pm's on the status and how I did about the application to VT and CA application expiring on Jan 20.... Here's the summary:

December 15, 2007: submitted "verification of license" form and an explanation letter with $60 check.....

-----CHECK NOT YET CLEARED AS OF THIS TIME

December 18, 2007: Submitted application to VT with $150 check

MISTAKE: didn't include CA pass letter

December 24, 2007 : VT received application and fees

------ CHECK GOT CLEARED

January 4, 2008: Sent CA BON request for extension of CA-RN application sent thru email, mail and fax

------ NO REPLY

January 8, 2008: Sent VT pass letter from CA

*** EMAILED THEM EVERY WEEK SINCE THEN IF THEY RECEIVED MY PASS LETTER

January 15, 2008: CA bon answered my email and asked if did I sent $10 payment for the transfer of NCLEX results to VT

January 16, 2008: Sent CA bon request for test scores for VT with $10

January 23, 2008: received an email that VT received pass letter

January 24, 2008: VT issued my license:w00t:

I email CA bon almost every 2 days just to know the status of my requests and application.... I got tired of calling them since they only give information based on what they see on the computer and up to now they are telling me that they haven't received any of my request. My CA application is now expired and I don't know if my extension was granted.

I just want to share this to people having the same problems..... VT does not require anything coming from CA Bon. All you need is the pass letter and the application based from my experience.

Thank you to all the advices. This forum is such a blessing to me.

It could have been that your friend unknowingly committed fraud by using something else in place of a ss#. You need a ss# regardless of what one might tell you. If you're caught with falsifying documents, then you will use your CA RN license and will be placed on the list of people who committed fraud. Which there is such list on the CA BRN website.

hi! could you help me with this matter.i am on a visitors visa right now and have passed the california nclex exam. i am applying for an endorsement in washington but sad to say washington department of health would not process my endorsement since i dont have my license no.i cant get my license from california since i dont have my ssn but a friend of mine told me that i could apply for a tin instead of ssn and california bon would accept it and will issue my license but the problem is i called irs and they said i am not qualified to get a tin but how come the friend of my friend was able to get one when we are in the same status?he said i have to go ta a notary public,do you have any idea on how to go about it.thank you

being on a tourist visa doesn't meet itin requirements unless you have to file federal return and do not qualify for a ssn.

what is an itin?

an individual taxpayer identification number (itin) is a tax processing number issued by the internal revenue service. it is a nine-digit number that always begins with the number 9 and has a 7 or 8 in the fourth digit, example 9xx-7x-xxxx.

irs issues itins to individuals who are required to have a u.s. taxpayer identification number but who do not have, and are not eligible to obtain a social security number (ssn) from the social security administration (ssa).

itins are issued regardless of immigration status because both resident and nonresident aliens may have u.s. tax return and payment responsibilities under the internal revenue code.

individuals must have a filing requirement and file a valid federal income tax return to receive an itin, unless they meet an exception.

irs us government

you can not endorse as you do not have a license to endorse and usually you still have to meet bon requirements for foreign trained nurse. so will more than likely still have to meet washington's requirements as you will have no us nursing experience.

you are aware of retrogression and that you will more than likely have to return home once your tourist visa time allocation is up?
