Advice when interviewing previous failed exams and out of school 9 months.

Published

Hello, I've been searching this site in hopes that someone else has asked this question, apologies if this is redundant.

I have been out of school since May 2013. Recently passed my exam. After being on AN for quite some time, I see how common it is to fail the exam (sometimes multiple times). Does anyone have any personal experience when they did not succeed right away at the Nclex, but was still able to land a decent job after all? When asked in the interview why they haven't worked since graduation? Or any other questions that came up in regards to the exam and time lapse. Really would appreciate your stories, advice, questions asked, or tips. Thanks!

Anyone out there have any advice to give. Just landed a great interview and right away on the phone was asked why I am applying for my first nursing job since graduating last May. I don't want to say I failed the exam because I am worried that will alter her judgement of me. What have other people said? Or should I just be honest about the exam? Please help! Thanks!
