Hello Everyone,
I am a 25 year old college student who is about to receive their Bachelors of Business Administration in Management later on this year. I don't have any experience in healthcare at all but I was considering going into that field and I wanted to utilize my degree in some way. I know this isn't exactly nursing related but I figured maybe some of you may be able to give some good advice on what I could go into. I was thinking maybe medical insurance or something. Any help is appreciated!

You could get a pharmacy degree and make a lot of money. Become a District or Regional manager in a couple years. I don't recommend nursing personally but that's just me.

I think you will find that healthcare is very different from other types of "business". Our accounting practices are uniquely tailored to the requirements of existing reimbursement systems. Marketing & advertising are extremely regulated. Healthcare liability is complex enough to warrant it's own branch of legal specialization. There is not a single aspect of our services that does not have to comply with a plethora of Federal, Professional, State and most likely local, regulations. Even our HR/employment parameters have to meet Federal scrutiny (mandatory criminal background checks).
If you want a job in healthcare with your BBA, your best bet would be to see if you can get an entry-level job in an accounting area. Then, take advantage of each and every training/learning opportunity that comes along. If you decide that healthcare is the place you want to be, you may need to aim for an MBA with a focus on healthcare finance or an MHA.
Best of luck to you.
