I'm having a difficult time and need advice. I'm currently a nursing student and another student is under the influence of using street drugs. I only know this because the was calling her drug dealer asking for drugs and accidentally dialed my number and left a voicemail. I told her how she has put me in a bad spot and that the ethical thing would be to handle it.. She has missed so much time in class and only has three hours left. Also in the voicemail that she left she mentioned another students name seeking who wasSeeking the same thing. I have several text messages her apologizing about the messages admitting her using. This has t been the first time she has mentioned using street drugs to fellow students.. i would love to know what you would have done if put intoThis situation.. I did report it and nothing has been done

If you reported it -you are done. You have no idea whether anything was done or not.
Move along.

Do nothing else. No need to invite trouble.
Did I do the right thing?

To whom did you report it? My first instinct is "did this really happen??" I apologize if my first reading of the situation is wrong. Either way, unless you actually witnessed him/her using (or they were impaired at clinical), I really don't think there is much for you to do.

You've done nothing wrong as far as this is concerned, and it is not up to you to do anything more about it. You are neither the investigator nor the judge & jury of this situation. You have no ethical duty nor a reason to concern yourself with this any further, and you also are rightfully not privy to any details of how it is being handled.

Report it and leave it.
