Next quarter will be my Senior Leadership course and I have a choice between adults and peds. I'm more interested in Peds (mainly NICU) but I know that the NCLEX is based on adults so I'm wondering if that wouldn't be more beneficial to me to just do the adults in order to prepare for taking the NCLEX. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I would recommend going to whichever area interests you more. You can study for the NCLEX with review books. I would be careful using knowledge from clinicals to answer NCLEX questions because how we do things in the hospital isn't always what the book says. My professors back when I was in college always warned us that there are two different worlds...the NCLEX world and the real world.

I teach NCLEX review courses. There are plenty of pedi and adolescent questions on the test - especially relating to growth and development.

I think you should choose the one you are more interested in. I had many peds questions when I took NCLEX.
