Which is better going to a community college to get your adn then going to school to get your bsn? Or just going straight to a 4yr university and getting your bsn? Pros & cons?

Welcome to allnurses. If you do a search of this website, you will find many threads (discussions) that discuss that very question.

Most people believe that the answer to that question depends on your specific situation -- and that what is best for one person might not be the best for another person. Some people feel strongly that "only their way is the right way" and get very passionate about being an advocate for one career pathway or the other.

Happy reading.

I believe you are asking your question genuinely, and I recommend using the search bar at the top of the screen to look for this topic. You will find numerous threads and numerous responses. There is no one right answer to your question, as everyone has different goals, and everyone's situation is different. If you do not already know this, the question you are asking has resulted in very polarized discussions on this forum in the past. I would encourage anyone with this question to first take the time to review discussions that have already taken place on this topic.

My standard answer to this question is...if you're in a financial situation where you can wait, go for the BSN, if you're needing to generate income sooner, go with the ADN.

otherwise the pros and cons are endless, research the threads
