i am going the ADN route as well. There are plenty of hospitals that hire ADN nurses in southern California literally just have to apply everywhere. Magnet hospitals tend to prefer BSN/MSN prepared nurses but some will hire you as long as you get your BSN within a certain amount of years. hope this helps and good luck.?
I got hired as anew grad at a county hospital in Southern California. There is a push for BSN educated RNs at magnet hospitals. I have friends that got into medsurg as new grads with their ADN; one didn’t even have prior work experience. I recommend doing the ADN because it’ll cost less. You may not always like the places you are eligible to get hired but you can use that as experience while getting your online BSN.
bay area is pretty hard right now rather it be a new grad adn or bsn. most hospitals here want you to have rn experience. There is new grad residencies at a couple of hospitals but some want you to have BSN. This is the issue im coming across. Im getting my experience at a SNF/rehb, as is alit of my class mates. been licensed and working 4 months, graduated in december. A few get hospital jobs but you have to know somebody to get in.

Hi everyone ? I'm currently considering applying for an ADN program and then doing an online bridge to BSN after I pass the NCLEX! My second choice would be applying for an ABSN program, but it's a lot more expensive and fast-paced. Do hospitals in California hire new ADNs? I heard that there isn't a big difference between ADNs and BSNs (for new grads), but I want to make sure that there's a chance that I'll get a job right after completing the program. Thanks for the help!
