Is there a ADN to BSN program that I can do credit by exam? I wouldn't be opposed to writing the occasional paper but I can't handle writing a paper every week. Don't take this post as me wanting my BSN for nothing. I just test better than write a paper.
Most BSN schools aren't ACEN accredited and instead opt for CCNE accreditation.
I think the reason is that most RN-BSN programs also have MSN programs. And ACEN cannot accredit MSN programs, so it doesn't make sense to pay for TWO agencies for accreditation. So they go with CCNE, which can accredit both the BSN and the MSN programs.
FYI: WGU was my first choice until I learned that the highest GPA they can assign for your work is 3.0. They have a pass/fail system wherein a pass is agreed to be at least a B grade. They do not go by GPA but, if one were to ask for a GPA calculation, they can only offer a 3.0. This is a non-issue for most people who want to stop at a BSN, or intend on continuing with WGU or similar pass/fail programs for higher degrees. As for me, I wanted to keep my options open and a 3.0 is not competitive in my eyes so I chose another school.
Just FWIW, I know of several people who have gone on to NP programs, and one who went on to a CRNA program, with a BSN from WGU.

That is good to know. Did they encounter any issues or questions about grading at all?
I am already pretty far along in my current RN-BSN program and I am also thinking of medical school, so the ship is too far out to turn back lol

They can accredit MSN programs but I don't know what type like if it is direct-entry or other forms. On the search box they have an option for MSN programs. I searched my state and they had 3 MSN programs accredited so it's obviously not much. I don't know much about the ins and outs of accrediting and if they would have to go through the survey twice for the BSN and again for the MSN program.
