ACU and CGFNS issue

Hi guys,

I have just begun the process of my education evaluation with CGFNS. One of requirements is request of academic transcript which has to be sent from nursing school to CGFNS. Few days ago I went to my uni to ask them regarding the transcript and pay some money for service. However, my nursing school refused to complete and send any papers to CGFNS on the grounds that all papers sent by Australian Catholic University Nursing School before had been returned back by CGFNS due to lack of some accreditation. ACU is well known Australian university with thousands of international students. I am just shocked. I have already spent nearly $500. What is wrong with ACU, why CGFNS can not evaluate this uni, and what can be done in this situation? Thanks.

Although I had clinical placements for Mental and Maternity and theory in Pediatric. I asked ACU about my academic transcript with theoratical and clinical placements hours in each unit, but still having no reply from them.

Wow that's brutal, sorry you had to go through that, but happy you have a report. I think perhaps your school had different titles for the courses cgfns says you're lacking in.

When i got my first report they wrote that i literally didnt have any clinical hours exept for 22 hours in geriatrics. Long story short the transcript department at my school didnt fill out those slots because mental health, peds, medsurg etc weren't titled that way, they had different titles. However this was fixed when the nursing department instead of the transcript department filled out the charts.

Thank you for sharing your story. My transcript was sent by ACU Nursing School. Now I asked them just to send transcript including titles of units with short discription if necessary and all theory and practice hours during my course to cgfns and directly to a nursing board in US. Hope it will fix the problem.

I know it's been a while since this tread was last active. How is everyone going? I am thinking about trying got get registered in California as they do not require CGFNS. I don't know if I can get registered in one state and then have it transferred to another state. Has anyone tried this?

In a lot of cases requirements are the same if you trained outside the US regardless on initial or endorsing license. C will require a US SSN before they will accept application and if you do not have one you will not get one until in the US and valid work/immigrant visa

Hi,

I have all of it. US SSN, WAP, Visa. I am in the best position to get registered as I am already in country. I just wanted to know if anyone has gone this route?

The best, most efficient and most cost effective route is always to apply directly to the state where you plan to live and work. When endorsing your license many states will still require CGFNS evaluation for all IENs. If you wanted to endorse to NY you would still need CVS from CGFNS

Hi Aus_Bee and red_caviar, any luck on ACU forwarding the transcript to them? I need to send my transcript to CGFNS as well and I need

the course descriptions and number of hours on the clinicals as well. I hope the school is accredited already. Any advise on how to go about

it and do you have the email address to contact that person in charge for the transcript? Thanks in advance.
