ACLS isn't too bad. Study your code drugs (epi and atropine) and your algorithms. Remember if they don't have a pulse, give them a pulse. If it is respiratory related, get them breathing again. Review your fatal rhythms. V-Tach, V-Fib (remember V-Fib=defib).
On a unrelated topic, I am moving to your area in about 3 weeks. Hubby is already there in the Apple Valley/Victorville area. Wondering what the job market looks like there and pay scale is. I've got 2 years of SICU and TICU and one year of med sug exp. I'm hoping to stay in SI and Trauma field.
Thanks and good luck with ACLS! It's not too bad I promise!! :)
Thx for the reply flicurn ... Yur in a different situation than I am... I'm a new Rn so the pay is totally different....it doesn't seem so well I've been offered $20/hr for a surg center I make alot more as an Lvn.... But with your experience Yull have better luck.

They have taken so much out of ACLS that it is nothing like it used to be. If you heard stories about how hard it was before, please rest assured it is pretty easy now.

If it's fast with a pulse but unstable...cardiovert
If it is fast with a pulse...think meds
No pulse start CPR
Fast no pulse CPR defib
Slow/absent no pulse...think underlying causes CPR pace
