...do people laminate them, or will that affect its perceived authenticity?

Once your employer has a copy, you can put it up.. No need to carry it around. I wouldn't laminate it LOL, some might not take it :)

Lamination affecting authenticity? Oh, for heaven's sake. That's ridiculous. My nursing license is laminated and nobody seems to worry about that. Go ahead and laminate it if you feel the overwhelming need to carry it around all the time in your wallet-- dollars to doughnuts nobody will ask to see it when you're doing CPR in the movie house or the restaurant, and your employer has a copy already.

I realize this was forever ago, but I forgot about it haha. I tend to keep all my 'card' like things in a wallet too. Maybe I should just come up with a different system, but beyond that, sometimes I like keep little relics (like my first ACLS card) in good condition for when, I don't know, years from now, like you, I won't consider it a big deal anymore, but will think fondly upon a time when I did.

As a Paramedic, who HAS to carry mine with me, YES I do laminate them and yes, it is ok to do that. LOL
