I just found out that I got accepted this week, Now I am just waiting for Stony Brook's reply! is anyone here also got accepted to Bing? :yeah:

:monkeydance:Congratulations on being accepted to Binghamton! I just received my acceptance letter for that program as well. My wife is a Binghamton grad and she told me that it is a really good program. (She did the nurse practitioner program but knows several people that were in the BAT program) I've been doing some research and the program looks pretty intense. I was also a little worried about traveling as far as Syracuse for clinical, but i'm hoping that I can do the majority of my clinicals between Elmira and Binghamton. I'm a little worried because I have no experience working in the medical field, but it's what I really want to do.

cool, my boyfriend actually is doing the traditional 4 years bsn program too, that's why I am also convinced to changing to nursing field lol

I don't think you need to worry about not having experience, cuz most of the people who are in the BAT program do not have medical experience either, and I know some people are actually from a very different field such as Art major.

As long as you can keep up your work in school, i don't think medical experience matters that much cuz we will have a lot of time spending in the hospital to learn those real experience anyway.

SANDY,

Congrats on the acceptance to Bing.

Question: What is your overall GPA and science grades? I may apply to Bing if things don't work out. I just want to know how competitive it is to get in.

Thanks

SANDY,

I have a 3.7 overall GPA in Biochemistry, BS and 3.9 nursing prereq GPA but I am also an undergrad in Bing, so I am not sure if they are giving me preference or not. Also they accept people in a rolling basis, so if I were you I would have applied much earlier. When I spoke w/ the advisor there, she told me to apply by thanksgiving.

so which schools did/will you apply?

I recently was accepted into Binghamton's BAT program starting May 2009! Have a few pre-reqs to finish up, but so far so good!!

Congrats to everyone!

Hello to everyone!

I've also been accepted to the BAT program and will be starting in May. I live in NYC and in time I will definitely have many questions about life in and around Binghamton; i.e., housing, car, etc.

For the moment, the first question concerns second semester chemistry. I've been told to take it at Southern Columbia University. It's a self-paced online course, but costs $800. Does anyone have less expensive recommendations?

Thanks for any help.

Robert

Hi! I just got accepted into Binghamton's Accelerated Nursing program as well for May 2009. I'm from PA. Is anyone looking for a roommate or can anyone suggest a good apartment place while in this program ??

Ashley

I got accepted to the Bing accelerated program that starts in may 2009 also. I also looking for a roommate or some good apartment places.. if you hear anything let me know :)

Specializes in NICU.

Congrats everyone! I did their 4 year traditional nursing track and graduated in 07 It's a great program :)

Hey everyone,

I'm currently in the BAT program at SUNY Binghamton. If anyone is interested in a really cute studio apartment on Main St. in Binghamton(furnished or unfurnished) please let me know. It's perfect for a single student. I have pictures also...

Also, I have books for sale...a bundle deal with a majority of the books that you will need for the program. Please contact me if you are interested. These books cost me over $600 easily and I am selling all 10 for a total of $350.

Good Luck everyone. The program is demanding but definitely 'doable'. It really flies by.
