Accepted into Molloy BSN fall '16 but...

Hi everyone, I was accepted into Molloy and I am very happy... but I am also having some doubts. I have already been in school for 2 years and was told that I will need 3.5 years at Molloy to finish my BSN because they have a sequence of courses where you have to follow.

Should I consider applying to Adelphi in a semester or two? Even though Adelphi is more expensive they give away more scholarships which end up being the same cost of Molloy or less... But I would need apply and get accepted in order to confirm this.

Also, does any Adelphi students or graduates know if I would finish faster at Adelphi?

I also hear that alot of Adelphi transfer students love their time at Adelphi which is why I am considering. I haven't heard much of Molloy since it's a smaller school I guess.

Any Molloy students here that think I should stay because they think it's a good school too?

I'm not sure about Adelphi but I am also applying to Molloy for next year even though I am also concerned about the length of the program.... I finished some of their prereqs already so I don't know why the minimum is 5 semesters. Good luck with your choice!

You are applying next year? How many years have you been in school so far if you don't mind me asking.

Hi...I actually graduated from Molloy this semester and was so happy I attended there. Though their program is longer than a majority of other programs, I feel definitely prepared as a new graduate nurse. Passed the NCLEX in 75 questions all because of the way the program is set up to build your critical thinking skills. Hope this helps.

Congrats on graduation! How were the professors? Also is it true that hospitals like Molloy students?

The professors are amazing. They all know their stuff. From the very beginning, the course is built to prepare you for the NCLEX. And yes, hospitals love molloy students! I actually had a job offer from my capstone experience even before graduating.

I just graduated from Adelphi this May and passed my NCLEX, but Molloy is also a great school. If you're interested in emergency or critical care, I would stick with Molloy because I believe that all students do a clinical in one or the other, at Adelphi you can only do ED or ICU as your capstone, and only then if you're lucky enough to get placed there! If I'm not mistaken, Molloy also has a better first time pass rate for the NCLEX.

Adelphi might not take all of your pre-reqs so you might end up being there for closer to 3 years. They require Physiological Chem (they take very few things as a transfer for this course), pathophys, genetics, microbiology, nursing informatics, and nursing nutrition. I'm not sure if they accept comparable informatics and nutrition courses. I transferred in with a BS in public health and it took me 3 years to graduate.

I graduated from Molloy this past December. I would say go with Molloy - it's really a great school and they just built a huge new building that will be just for nursing. That's something I didn't get to enjoy unfortunately, but you will! Molloy really does prepare you, ICU clinicals are part of their curriculum and the professors are very good. Also, their pass rate is high. I passed my NCLEX in 75 questions.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions!

I also graduated from Molloy. I passed the NCLEX with 75 questions. I was hesitant to go to Molloy at first due to the time it would take to get my BSN. But, I'm glad I did. The professors are very knowledgeable and they really prepare you. I loved that they were also very supportive.

Hi! Does anyone know the requirements to apply to Molloy as a transfer student for their BSN program? I was originally planning on doing the Eastern Suffolk Boces LPN program and then just doing Molloy's LPN to RN program but I would love to just do the BSN straight away. Does anyone know how/what I would need to have prerequisite wise?!

Omg I am in the same exact situation. I am also concerned about the lengthy time. They also require you to take five classes during the first semester and as of now the professors available are limited. I don't want to do poor having five classes the first semester and end up getting kicked out. I also have a psychology degree but did not apply to the dual which is my mistake. Idk what I should do now :/
