Accepted into Molloy BSN fall '16 but...

Published

Hi everyone, I was accepted into Molloy and I am very happy... but I am also having some doubts. I have already been in school for 2 years and was told that I will need 3.5 years at Molloy to finish my BSN because they have a sequence of courses where you have to follow.

Should I consider applying to Adelphi in a semester or two? Even though Adelphi is more expensive they give away more scholarships which end up being the same cost of Molloy or less... But I would need apply and get accepted in order to confirm this.

Also, does any Adelphi students or graduates know if I would finish faster at Adelphi?

I also hear that alot of Adelphi transfer students love their time at Adelphi which is why I am considering. I haven't heard much of Molloy since it's a smaller school I guess.

Any Molloy students here that think I should stay because they think it's a good school too?

I just graduated from Adelphi this May and passed my NCLEX, but Molloy is also a great school. If you're interested in emergency or critical care, I would stick with Molloy because I believe that all students do a clinical in one or the other, at Adelphi you can only do ED or ICU as your capstone, and only then if you're lucky enough to get placed there! If I'm not mistaken, Molloy also has a better first time pass rate for the NCLEX.

Adelphi might not take all of your pre-reqs so you might end up being there for closer to 3 years. They require Physiological Chem (they take very few things as a transfer for this course), pathophys, genetics, microbiology, nursing informatics, and nursing nutrition. I'm not sure if they accept comparable informatics and nutrition courses. I transferred in with a BS in public health and it took me 3 years to graduate.

Hey! I know this is a long post but is it possible to take physiological chemistry, Pathophysiology, genetics, microbiology, nursing informatics, and nursing nutrition in the 1 semester if every other prerequisite is completed?
