I have just been accepted to the Emory BSN nursing program for fall 2009 and I just wanted to know if other accepted students would like us to communicate and help each other prepare for the fall. We can discuss anything from immunization, PDA, housing to financial aid.
I would also like current student and alumni to mentor us in order to make our preparation smoother. Any advice is welcome since you've been there before from what type of stethoscope to which brand of PDA to buy.
I am a very meticulous person and would like every thing to go perfectly that is why I need all the advice that I can get so that come August, we would all be ready and prepared for the challenging two years ahead of us.
Thanks to all who will join the group and to all who will advise us.
Really appreciated.
Just remember everyone is really swamped right now finalizing details for graduating seniors' accounts! Not to mention Katie and Andrea are very much a part of the graduating/pinning ceremonies. You'll get your info...we all did! When I first saw my package online it didn't include the NEAT so I assumed I didn't get it but a week or so later the information for the NEAT came in the mail. Just a little patience...I know it's difficult.

Hi everyone. I just found out that I got accepted to the program on Tuesday, so I am really freaking out about finding the funds to pay my tuition. I am going to be spending a lot of time on the internet looking for scholarships and grants. Any help or advice would be appreciated. I am way behind, but I determined to make it work.
Oh no! I'm sorry...did you call Katie?
No I called my financial aid advisor but haven't received a call back yet. I know they are busy and all but I don't understand why one half of the alphabet got their information and the other half didn't.
Joanna thanks for popping in! You are almost there! Congratulations! How excited you must be!
Candi sorry I don't have any advice for you but I just wanted to say congratulations and welcome!
So I guess it's not just me who hasn't received any package yet since my last name starts with Y. I just left to africa for 2 weeks and getting to check my mails has been difficult but I do check it every chance I get and still no show. I am becoming a bit nervous.
If anyone from the second batch hears anything, please let us know.
Congrats Candi
Nope, I haven't gotten anything either.
Candi, I suggest starting at Fastweb.com. It is a way to find out some scholarships you may qualify for. You create a profile and then it gets you started at least.
I paid my deposit to Emory on Sunday. I am excited to move forward even though I am still dealing with some NEW financial issues. My husband's software developer job ends in 3 weeks (found out yesterday). He is looking for a new one. We might have to dip into some of the money we have saved for Emory. I sure hope not though. I have been approved for private loans though.
BTW, you can call banks and get that started without knowing about financial aid. It helps feel like you are doing something while you wait.
Also, we will need CPR for healthcare providers certifications and a physical before we start.
