hey guys!

I'm still waiting for my packet to arrive but I wanted to suggest the Red Cross for a CPR class. They have several locations in the Northern VA area and classes are constantly running - weekdays and weekends - so you can basically choose the class to fit into your schedule. Their entire schedule is posted online so you can browse. Just a thought!

Just got an email from the school that explains the background/drug screening:

All,

Acceptance letters to NOVA’s traditional track nursing program were mailed out on Friday, June 10th. If you have not already received that letter you should receive it within the next day or two. The background check and drug screening directions were not included with the letter because we are still in the final stages of finalizing the directions with the cost involved. However, we did not want to keep you waiting as to your acceptance status. As soon as the directions have been finalized, they will be sent to your student email address.

You might want to find out if they require AHA CPR/BLS before signing up with Red Cross. Just don't want to see anyone waste time or money!

They do require AHA by the way guys

i just got this from mrs. vito

the information contained on the bb site states:

- the nursing department will accept only the american heart association "healthcare provider" certification for infant, child and adult. you may register for a healthcare provider cpr course offered through the mec workforce development and continuing education department at 703-822-6523.

you may take this course wherever it is available.

Hi,

Sorry. I'm a little late to the game. I've been lurking over the past few days, but am getting nervous and need to ask others who might be out there.

I have not received a letter so far. It's Monday June 13 and so I'm worried that means I haven't been accepted. If so, I'm wondering if others are in the same boat.

Congratulations to all who have been accepted so far.
