Has anyone recieved one???? Ive applied to U of P and a few others but the wait is killing me!!!!! I recieved a letter RE: providence scholarship Interview and i was lucky to recieve one!! but i havent heard from U of P yet
so just wondering about others, let me know and GOOD LUCK!!!!!
I'll be in Linfield's ABSN summer 2010 cohort. I look forward to hearing from others in that class, and meeting each of you in June.
I received my Linfield acceptance on the 24th and my OHSU rejection on the 26th.
For those who want another data point, I have both a bachelors and masters in electrical engineering, and have worked in that field for about 14 years. My masters GPA was 3.62, and I had a bit higher GPA on the pre-req's (I don't recall exactly what each school figured it out to be after they pulled the grades from the classes they were interested in).
Anyone going to Linfield who is in A&P at PSU now, with Degrauw?
I'm sending in my acceptance to the 2010 Linfield cohort next week. Can't wait to meet everyone and get started with classes. I'm going to be moving in from out of state... any suggestions as to where I should start looking for an apartment?
Welcome to Portland! Downtown near the school is a super nice area, but it's very expensive. I live out in SE near 205. It's alot cheaper out there and it's a pretty quick commute by highway. I've found every apartment I've had here in Portland on craigslist.
I'm still agonizing over my decision about where to go, but I'll most likely see you there at Linfield.
Good luck finding a place!
Lucy.
Hey Taz5869, the Fall cohort is not technically called an accelerated program is it, though it is only 21 months, and it is for students that are going for their 2nd degree, correct?
Correct, it is not designated as an "accelerated program" like Summer 2010. I would definitely prefer to be in the Summer cohort, but am grateful to have been accepted into the Fall cohort. Interestingly enough, both programs are the same number of semesters, although the accelerated group does also attend a January term. However, the classload in the "non-accelerated" schedule is actually a little heavier and Fall students accrue more credits within the program. The reason that the Fall schedule is 21 months vs. 18 months is due to the timing of the schedule and the way Linfield has January terms (where accelerated students take classes and Fall schedule students do not have to). Winter break and January term extend the Fall program an additional few months.
Additionally, I believe that the Fall program is not exclusively reserved for 2nd degree students... I believe that there are some Junior first-degree students in that cohort, as well.
Summer 2010 Accelerated students attend: Summer 2010, Fall 2010, January Term 2011, Spring 2011, Summer 2011, and Fall 2011 with Graduation in December 2011.
Fall 2010 students attend: Fall 2010, NO January term, Spring 2011, Summer 2011, Fall 2011, No January term, and Spring 2012... graduating in May 2012.

I applied for the ABSN program at OHSU, and I am in the middle of a weird email exchange with them. They emailed me last monday to have me fill out a consent form for a background check because I disclosed an arrest history on the application (I was in a crowd of 200 people that got mass-arrested at a large protest a couple years back). Now they are asking me weird questions like "Have you ever lived in michigan?" and "Are there any other last names associated with your SSN?" The answer to both is no, and now I'm freaked out about both my application status and possible identity theft.
