Hi hopeful Fall 2011 NYU students!
I recently submitted my application for the accelerated BNS program. I saw that other semesters had discussions and I thought it would be nice to start one for us, just to help each other out through the application process.
I looked at past ones when I was filling out my application and found them to be helpful, so hopefully it will be for us.
Love to see who all is applying and how it's going:)

Hey,
So, I e-mailed NYU saying that I also have been accepted into another program and was curious about when regular applicants would hear decisions, and this was the reply I received:
"Decisions will begin to go out next week via email and will be ongoing through early June.
Thank you for your continued patience.
I recommend requesting a tuition payment deadline from the other institution. We, at NYU, always honor such requests."
SO... Not so sure if that trick will work for everyone! At least not for regular applicants like myself. :)

I agree. We don't want to annoy admissions to the point that they won't provide us ANY information on our application. Most schools don't even provide any information to their applicants, so NYU has been very nice to let us have some much contact with admissions. Another week or 2 won't kill us to wait, because in the end if we are meant to get in, we will be contacted. Good Luck everyone!
Ok, so I applied to the accelerated program regular decision. I am so worried because I haven't received any confirmation email throught NYU that they received anything. I also never got a login. I called and they stated that they received everything and decisions go out next week. My gpa is a 3.3. I was a Biology major and immediately went to the Air Force after college to work as a medical technician (lpn in the air force). Is there anyone that got accepted that didn't get a confirmation email from NYU? I am so nervous and basically, with my grades, am praying my air force and experience will grant me acceptance. ps...this forum is awesome, it's what got me through my application process!
Hey gracelet9,
I would email to ask and let them know about not receiving an email. I feel like sometimes the admissions ambassadors have programmed responses to questions about certain things. You should have received an id number for the Albert system. Email usually connects you to one of the higher administrators that work in admissions. Good luck and let us know what happens.
Im looking through the forum and trying to figure out how we came on this Friday being the day theyd send out emails... Anyone know? I keep hearing next week now. I feel like thats always the answer!
I was so tempted to call but I think Ill atleast wait til Monday. I think when more people start hearing then I will call. Hopefully were all on the first round.
Thank you Annie. I just called them and they gave me a netid and said that sometimes emails don't go out and it doesn't mean I didn't get in. The women said my application was processed so I am waiting. AHHH I am so nervous. Did you hear back anything yet?
Still waiting :) I am not expecting to hear tomorrow though. I have a feeling I will hear next week.

Hey guys,
I don't want to seem like an annoying butt, but if you really have to make a decision because you got accepted to different schools then you should call admissions and ask about your decisions status. However, if not, I wouldn't call because then the admissions office might catch on to what people are doing and might change the policy about telling students if they got in or not because they have to decide between 2 schools. It would ruin it for future classes too. I know some other schools don't even disclose that information, making the applicant weigh their options. So, just be patient, we'll all hear good news soon. :)
