I recently submitted my application for the accelerated BNS program. I saw that other semesters had discussions and I thought it would be nice to start one for us, just to help each other out through the application process.
I looked at past ones when I was filling out my application and found them to be helpful, so hopefully it will be for us.

When I went to the Open House they said that if you apply by March 1 that we are in the first "pool" of applicants. Therefore, the first spots go to the first ones that apply and we hear first. At least that is what I got from it. I believe they said that if you apply by the April 1 deadline, it is on a rolling admission of spots that are still open? Does this sound correct?
If you are all right and they do send emails out on Friday I hope I get some good news because I work Friday night and if not that could be a recipe for one bad day at work.

I got the "NYU Application acknowledgement" email yesterday. My transcripts are still not checked off but I am calm. I heard from them last week that they are still sorting out their mail and paperwork.
Im feeling overwhelmed. A lot of things are on hold until I hear from NYU. Its really stressful. I get a little upset every morning when I have no email from them. Today Im feeling especially down.
I called and they said my app is in the final stage of review. I dont know what that means lol but then she gave me the "Youll hear sometime soon/Early next week" answer.
How were you able to find out the progress of your transcript? Every time I call to try and get connected with a counselor they tell me the same old generic answer.
Hey Nessa, ya Ive called a bunch trying to get through to a counselor and they always tell me the same thing as well. I think the key is to stump the student ambassadors! Haha
I feel like it just depends too on what student you get connected to. Some are willing to transfer you and others dont.
I would just make sure when you call you have a good question for them. Ive gotten through only 3 times. Somethings I asked were: Making sure they had my right last name (I just got married), Priority deadlines, and today a question about my app.
I feel like if you use the words: status, transcripts, and deadlines they are just programmed to give you a general answer. Maybe try asking for specific people too! Hope that helped.
