accelerated BSN online

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hey y'all,

I wonder if there is such thing as an accelerated bsn program online? I will be done with my BA in Liberal Studies and want to go the accel bsn route but wondering if there is an online program for this...anyone?

I'm not sure how one would accomplish the clinical hours in an on-line Acc BSN. I know RN to BSN are done completely on line, but I've never seen a second degree on line.

Anyone else?

One of my very good friend has a BS already and is in an accelerated program online. She does her clinicals at her local hospital but all the actual school work is online. She starts Texas Tech in the fall.

Her program is offered only at a few locations in Texas. Her "class" work will be online, but her clinicals are at the local hospital.

I don't think TX tech offers the program outside of the state.

Sorry if there was any confusion.

no tx tech offers a program in her area which is not lubbock. i don't want to identify the location as there aren't many people in her class (less than 40 i believe) she does have to go to lubbock 2x for orientation, but she is being given a preceptor (they call them coaches) at her local hospital. she starts her program in august. she's so stoked and i'm so proud of her.:redbeathe

Hello All nurses,

I am new to your forum. I am not a conventional student. I am 56, and just finished a bachelors of science in 2 and 1/2 years. I had plans of going to Anesthesia Assistant School here in Florida, but my doctor friends told me to forget that. They said to go through the nursing programs.

I am presently finishing a few more prerequisites at Florida Atlantic University; nutrition, human life span and growth. My BS is from Nova Southeatern University and my GPA is 3.35. I have all clases from inorganic chemistry I,II, organic, bio-chem, ap I, II, physics I, II, bio I, micro3020, calc, stats, and a minor in phsyc with up to 4700 level. I am as hard a working individual as anyone. I study 7 days a week, it is my life. Do care about anything else. Need your help.

I have applied to FAU's Nursing Accelerated Nursing Program, but am nervous since I found out that they have 325 applicants for 30 spots. You guys know the requirements for these programs. I know most just have the bachelors and basic prerequisites. I know I have more than most and the higher ended science courses. I do not have time to make mistakes. My goal is masters in nursr prac-acute care and doctoral so I may end my days teaching. I need advice on what I can do and not do or better still what should I do and what can I do??? (Don't want to put eggs in one basket and get caught with my pants down, so to speak)

I understand your hurry and impatience. I am a 45 yr old certified teacher who is changing careers. I am staying local so I only applied at our local state school's accelerated program, had a 4.0 in all prereq's and had all the "minimum" requirements and did not get in. I don't know if it is age related, just not enough medical experience (I have all classroom work experience with major volunteer record). I don't know what they were looking for? I am going to their 3 yr BSN and wish you luck. There were only something like 20 spots.
