Accelerated BSN/MSN at USA

Published

Greetings to all the Alabama Nurses!

Can anyone comment on the accelerated nursing programs at the University of South Alabama? I am very interested in pursuing this course of study however I am having a difficult time finding anyone who has had any experience with the school or the programs.

Also I'd be very grateful if you would share your thoughts on accelerated/second degree programs, in general.

Your help and advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi There!

hi everyone

I have a few questions to someone that is in the accel. south al bsn program. What is the average gpa for entry into this program? Is it impossible to keep a 3.5 or above? feedback would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I'm very interested in the Accelerated Program at USA as well.

So how's it going, guys? Still alive?:p

A friend of mine started the Baldwin (Fairhope) program this Spring. She loves it. She's the one who got me sold on going. Although, it'll kinda bite that I'll be at the Mobile campus.:o

Once clinicals start, how many hours are you in class and how many hours at the hospital? (asking so I can figure out how to work things around a VERY spoiled mini-schnauzer)

Thanks for ANY info guys. I got a rejection letter last month from my dream school (Hopkins), and it took a long while to get over it, but I'm starting to look forward and get excited again!

Bueller?

Bueller?

Anyone know how many are accepted into the Accelerated Program each semester (and roughly how many apply) and the cost of out-of-state tuition?

Thanks so much! :clown:

tuition is about $10,000 for in state. so out of state is going to be pretty expensive. but i think that there are some ways to change residency to alabama. kinda expensive. whats up with the bueller?

oh yeah and there are around twenty in each class.

Hi Troy!

The Bueller thing was a rip-off from "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"--whenever I try and dig up/start a thread and no one responds for awhile, I just get silly. :coollook:

so did you wind up going? Are you at the Baldwin Campus or are you going to start in the fall?

Anyways, Thanks so much for replying!! Oh well, the 20 accepted is much better than the 10 I had read in another thread! :D I'm just so nervous--with the evaluation Nancy did, I come out to about a 3.66, but not sure if that'll be enough to get me in!

3.6 will get you in. you dont have to be a rocket scientist to get in. i guess the one thing that is hard about it is that you have around three tests a week. i think everyone in our class is doing good though i would say at least B's. it is hard though. anything less than a C average and they might tell you take it to the house. it can be done.

Hi I'm a perspective USA nursing student. I'm finishing my pre-reqs at MGCCC in Gulfport. I have general questions about the program. I'm applying for the Spring 2007 semester. What's the schedule like? Clinicals. I'm a single parent of two so I need as much information I can get so I can know what to expect and what I arrangements I need to make. Someone please reply. I'm considering just attending an LPN program because the pay doesn't seem to be any different. I've been accepted to MGCCC - JD's LPN program. For some who may not know MGCCC is Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Jeff Davis Campus in Gulfport, MS.

Specializes in Ortho-Neuro,labor and delivery, nursery.

Good question. I'm at JD right now too and also plan to go to USA for the spring semester so any info would be great!

U South Al RN2B,

Could you enlighten me on your experience at USA? How's the schedule with clinicals and testing? Thanks

Could some one please reply to my posts around 06/18/2006 re: USA ?

Thanks
