Accelerated 2016 and/or Athabasca BIOL235 2015-2016

Hi all, so this is my first post.. I have my BSc and MSc degrees but despite all those courses, I need BIOL 235 via Athabasca to get those 6 cr A&P for an accelerated BScN-->MScN and hopefully on to become a nurse practitioner (in pediatrics:woot:)

So, is anyone else currently enrolled in this course? There is such little (read: zero) communication between students in the class or students & "tutors", I thought it'd be nice to have a support/discussion thread somewhere... ((Apologies if there is already a topic for this, I only found previous years in my search.))

I'm freaking out because I need to finish everything by ~May to be able to actually go to any of the schools if I'm accepted to them... :/ It's a lot of material to teach myself very very quickly while still doing well.:Skull:

Can we commiserate, support and encourage each other please and thanks? :inlove:

Hi no-scrubs! Good luck with the course.. I did well but I had to work hard, no way I could have done it in addition to being a full-time student! Bottom line is, it's not the kind of course you can slack in (or google answers for quizzes), but if you study it will pay off. I didn't even stick to their study schedule because of procrastination + having to complete the course sooner than their schedule allowed, so cramming to finally do well in the end is definitely possible... lol... though not recommended ;)

Hi NBolas,

I had another question for you about BIO 235. How did you go about completing the course? Did you make chapter notes for each chapter of just read the textbook and study as you went along?

Hi no-scrubs,

For me, my study style is to read the textbook according to the study guide and verbally review the chapter. I find that talking out loud to myself helps the most. That being said, you may have a completely different way of learning, so use whatever works for you.

For points that are unclear or confusing, I recommend using the rich resources available on Youtube... there are a lot of anatomy tutorials and lectures there
