  1. Hi futurenurse612, Which edition of Potter and Perry's Nursing Fundamentals should i purchase? only the 5th edition mentions that its specifically Canadian Fundamentals
  2. hey guys! I'm really hoping to get into Western, but also received the deferral notice. I'm super nervous, do you think if our marks were consistent with the previous semester we'll still get in? Basically, what are our chances of getting in?
  3. wow that's INSANE. I feel like I keep hearing the same thing over and over again. First someone in admissions told me they would have a decision by April 17th. Then after that date, I heard we would know within the next week or two. Now it's another two weeks? What? Feels like we're never actually going to know. Getting SO impatient. Not all that fair in my opinion. Hard not to be sassy, I would have done the same
  4. Hey Yoginikrista, thank you SO much. I've been so stressed out about it! Seriously, tell me everything! How do you find the finances compared to Ontario? I know its a lot more expensive out there. How's the life style compared to Ontario? How did you find a rental? How expensive is it? Thanks so much for your willingness to answer my questions! It's actually very helpful!
  5. crazy... hopefully that means they're really trying to get back to us ASAP without interruption! I would contact SSC but I don't have my phone on me.
  6. i've been glued to my computer since April 27th...I'm getting so discouraged and impatient I almost feel like I'm never going to hear back..wish there was a date we could just look forward too...I'm from Ontario, so this really isn't a move I can just easily make, I need to really have time to think things through and make the move to BC...there's a lot to consider and the longer it takes to hear back the more anxious I get...really hoping for ANYTHING just a response, rejection or acceptance would help me figure things out.
  7. Really hoping they actually come out today! does anyone know for sure?
  8. Hey guys! I just got an offer of admissions to SPP! I see you guys talking about webadvisor though, and I didn't receive any instructions on setting it up. Can someone fill me in?
  9. Hi tdmah! Thanks for your insight! I do have a few questions for you, being a 2018 applicant myself. I'm from Ontario so the move to Vancouver will be huge. In terms of where to live, where do you think will be the most convenient? On campus? I'm thinking clinical could be anywhere, but I really don't want to be commute all day, everyday. Any insight? Also, do you have names of any landlords i could get in touch with? It's been a real challenge looking for housing. Also, I see that clinical can be either Tuesday/Wednesday or Saturday/Sunday. Do students get to choose which day they want? How is your schedule determined? I've been accepted to other nursing schools, but I'm really attracted to BC! Tell me all you can about student life etc :) THANK YOU!!
  10. Hey guys! I'm also a 2018 applicant! Has anyone heard back yet?
  11. Hi NBolas, I had another question for you about BIO 235. How did you go about completing the course? Did you make chapter notes for each chapter of just read the textbook and study as you went along?
  12. Hi NBolas, Thanks so much for your response! It really helped! I'll definitely come to your if I have any other questions! Thanks a lot!
  13. Hey all you pre-nursing students! I want to apply to an accelerated nursing program after I graduate from my current institution, and to apply, it's required I take BIO 235 with Athabasca University. Is anyone else taking this course or has anyone else ever taken it? There is so little communication between students and tutors that it would be nice to share notes and ideas with someone, and help each other get through the course! Message me if you're taking the course and basically want a study buddy :). Also, if you have taken the course do you have any advice/ tips/resources/notes you would care to send my way? I'm super nervous about it, it's taking me very long to get through everything and being a full-time student doesn't leave and a whole lot of extra time to make notes for endless hours. Hope to hear from you all soon! Study hard!
  14. Hi megankyla ! I know you posted this thread a while ago, but I searched "BIO 235" in the keywords section and your post came up! How did BIO 235 go? I want to apply to an accelerated nursing program and BIO 235 is required. I'm very anxious about it. I started in September, but because I'm still a full time student, it's really taking a while for me to complete. I'm now just finishing the last two chapters of the first portion of the course and planning to take my 1st midterm sometime in January. Were you able to keep up? How were the midterms/exams/quizzes? Do the quizzes require a lot of study time? Or could I just google the answers? I'm so nervous I'm not going to complete the course on time, and there is so little communication between students and tutors that it's even harder not having others to ask questions and share ideas. Do you have any tips for me? Any notes or resources that really helped? Thanks so much! Hope to hear from you soon!
  15. Hi Stephnurse2727 Are you still taking BIO 235?! I want to apply to an accelerated nursing program so I need to take it! I started the course in September, but since I'm still enrolled as a full time student at my current institution I'm just finishing up the last two chapters for the first portion of the course, and am going to book my 1st midterm for probably sometime in January. It's so rich in content, its taking me forever! How did the midterm go?! Any tips? The content is VERY in depth, but I've been making really detailed notes which is very time consuming, so I'm more than willing to exchange notes if you're interested! Have you done the quizzes yet? There is so little communication between students and tutors it would be nice to get through this tedious course with some haha! Hope to hear from you soon!! :)
