There was a woman in my program who was academically dismissed from her first attempt at nursing school. She was at the top of the class in our class and she was humble and hardworking. I respected her greatly. She used her essay in her application to explain why she failed the first time, what she learned from failing and what she had done to make sure it did not happen again.
That was in NJ and I don't recommend you move all the way across the country for school. Go meet with some admissions counselors at the schools near you. Be open and honest about your experience and ask what you need to do to get in. You're already a nurse, you can do this.
I'm sure another school would still accept you. However, I would recommend an in-person college (maybe a community college) if there is one near you that has an ASN program. My local hospital does a RN bridge program for LPNs that allows them to work and get paid for clinical hours with tuition fully covered (contingent on working for a set number of years after completion.) Good Luck!

No, I live on the East Coast. Were the classes you failed nursing classes or just general reqs? I ask because could you potentially retake those classes at another school and then try to re-apply into the program? I can only speak for my area, but we have a specific allied heath/pre-nursing certificate program at our local community college that allows you to take all your pre-requisites and then if you have a certain GPA and grade in those courses you are guaranteed admission into neighboring nursing programs and all those courses can transfer. It might be worthwhile for you to set up a meeting with an admissions counselor for those ASN programs and fully explain your situation and see what they can do/suggest and you can compare your options. Wishing you the best!

I'm not sure where in California you live, but I heard in So Cal it's harder to get in and there is a waiting list for some colleges. Especially if there are issues on your transcript. Is there a possibility you can apply to the inland colleges or possibly out of state?

What a wonderful program.! Yes there is a commitment but (by the end of the day) you have tuition/ your RN entry program in the past.

I need any advice I can get.
I was academically dismissed back in 2022 from west coast university in California after failing more than two courses. At that time I was going through an abusive relationship that got in between my education. Since then I have gotten my LVN license and I am practicing as a nurse at this moment. I've always wanted to become a registered nurse and I still plan on making my dreams come true. I know I'm not the only that's been in a situation like this. Can anyone give me some advice on what schools or programs would be willing to accept my academic dismissal? I have all my prerequisites but I don't have the best grades. However in LVN school I had a 3.2 commutative GPA with no C's.
any recommendations or suggestions?
