Today I received an email stating, "The Admissions Committee has carefully reviewed your application to the ABSN program. After much consideration, I regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you a spot at this time..... A spot was not offered at this time due to your grade. Admissions would like to see your grades after you complete the remaining four prerequisite courses." There was more the email but I don't want to bore you guys. Does this mean I should give up now? Or maybe does this mean if I take my remaining pre-requisites and demolish them (in a good way receiving all A's) I may be granted a spot in the ABSN program?I'm trying to use this email as a motivator but currently I feel like a complete failure and just want to throw in the towel.
It sounds like they gave you some advice with regard to how to improve your chances. Whether or not it's worth it is a question only you can answer.
Complete the classes and apply again. Apply to more than one school. Apply to traditional (non-accelerated) bsn programs or adn programs. There are many paths to getting an RN. It may be a blessing in disguise that you didn't get in right know. We appreciate things more when we had to work harder for them.
