Published

I just wanted to start a topic for applicants of 2012. I've been going through forums trying to find an applicant in my situation, but I have not been successful so far. I figured by starting my own topic, I can get some feedback. :)

In a quick summary here's my status:

Completed applications so far: NJCU, SHU (Georgian Court), PACE Univerisity

BS Biology 2009 GPA 3.3

Medical Assisting Diploma 2011 GPA 4.0 (Certified as well; now working as CMA w/ lots of clinical experience already)

HESI Score 88, Class avg 83

i had everything... just messed up on the hesi ... you cant even take it again right... that suckss -_-

Ssorry to hear that ash :( no you can't take it again until next year. Other schools let you retake it once more.

:crying2: oh well wish you guys best of luck.. maybe it wasn't meant for me ... sigh.. i have a question though.. what is the conversion score? because it doesnt show anything.. just the hesi score.. and nothing in the percentile either.. you guys have that too?

I am sorry to hear that as well ash. What about UMDNJ. Their deadline is June 1 and there is no hesi involved. However they do a require a 3.25 g.p.a. Information can be found here UMDNJ-School of Nursing - Admissions information.

Yes. The conversion and the percentile score is blank for me as well.

many people said that the conversion score is that actual score based on what type of questions you had to answer....

I did read that on the evolve website but I honestly have no further information on the subject matter. Maybe its worth checking out? This is what I read on the evolve website:

"The HESI score reflects application of the HESI Predictability Model (HPM) to the composite score. Research studies have found the HPM to be highly accurate in predicting NCLEX success. HESI scores range from 0 to over 1,000, and can be as high as 1,500 (depending on the difficulty level of the exam).

Each school establishes their own standards or requirements for HESI scores. However, Reach suggests 900 as a recommended score and 850 as an acceptable score.

Your "conversion score" is a weighted percentage score that considers the average difficulty of the exam and the average difficulty of the test items you answered correctly. It is set on a traditional 0-100 scale.

The percentile ranking measures your level of performance as compared to the performance of a national standard or norm group.

See your detailed scoring report for a more in-depth explanation of scoring."
