ABSN Duke Fall 2010

Published

Hi All!

I have decided to take the plunge and leave my career as a mental health therapist to gain a BSN in Nursing and hopefully move straight into MSN program. Is anyone else applying to Duke in the Fall??:yeah:

EXCELLENT RECON WORK, KEBUNT! :yeah:

five days... but who's counting?

Will duson have an admit weekend for us when we are admitted? Or since we had interviews there do you think we may not have one? Just wondering if anyone knows.

Also sarabear I got the same $55k figure as you when I did the math but I've also heard the $80k number so I am unsure. Do you think the extra money could be for living expenses?

I've heard that Duke estimated the cost of living to be around 1,600 per month.

1,600 x 16 = 25,600

25,600 + 55,000 = 80,600

That could be close to your answer...

They told us around $64,000 at Duke Days (as a spreadsheet on the screen, so I couldn't write it all down). I didn't get all the details of it, but all the fees/tuition/insurance? made sense at the time. They told us $86,000 including living expenses. I don't have all my notes with me here at work. I'm sure someone else has more details than my limited description!

Hi everyone!

Nice recon work, kebunt! I'm supposed to go hiking on Presidents Day which means - no computer access! Crap. I better make sure that I bring a friend with an iPhone.

Like, Brinkallz, I couldn't read a darn thing on that Cost of Attendance spreadsheet that they showed on Duke Days. The font was soooo tiny. When I got home, I emailed financial aid and asked them to send me the information from the slides that they presented. If anyone wants to private message me their email addresses, I'll be happy to forward you the information.

It shows the total Cost of Attendance for all 4 semesters of the program, including cost of living expenses, health insurance, transportation, materials, everything. I suggest you take a deep breath before you open the file.

Oh man, Monday is going to be a stressful day, especially if they don't get all the notifications out! I wonder if they will or not. Good luck everyone!

Oh my goodness... only 5 days? My heart is in my throat, reading that!! Good recon work!

And Geneva, I had the SAME reaction when I saw that email today. :)

What survey e-mail are you guys talking about? I didn't get an e-mail from anyone...

no worries Sarabear... didn't you do a phone interview? The survey just had questions about our "Duke Days" experience.

I am so going to puke at some point this week.

Jason - If I could give kudos twice, I would.

I cannot believe that decisions will (probably) go out Monday and I'll be off in the woods all day. I think that I'll give my mom the log-in information and obsessively text her all day, asking her to check the site over and over and over again.

I wonder what it is going to look like on the applyyourself website when they release decisions? Would we get a message in the message center? Or would a neon blue pop-up come out reading CONGRATULATIONS!!!! or, would we have to click somewhere else... Does anyone know?
