ABSN Duke Fall 2010

Hi All!

I have decided to take the plunge and leave my career as a mental health therapist to gain a BSN in Nursing and hopefully move straight into MSN program. Is anyone else applying to Duke in the Fall??:yeah:

If it makes you feel any better, every time I think about it, I can tell you all of the effects of epinephrine and the sympathetic nervous system just by doing a head-to-toe self-assessment!

Honestly, I think everyone who knows me well enough to see me on a regular basis and hear about all of this is going to be just as happy to get this over with as I will be. I'm soooo ready to move on in one direction or another, get to make some decisions instead of wait for them to be made about me...

I wrote my diversity essay on being a red head...and I am serious about it. ;)

There's no disputing that only 1-2% of the country has red hair (determined by the melanocortin-1 receptor (MC1R), which is found on chromosome 16.) So, the way I see it- by numerical default, redheads are under represented in the field...

Yeah... that's my (ONLY) angle- and I'm doing the best I can with it. :)

Happy Valentine's Day :-) I got to celebrate by taking my hubby to the airport for a 2 week work trip. :-( At least he's going to the East Coast, and planning to visit Duke for me next weekend! (if I get in)

So how do you all think it's going to go down tomorrow? Everyone seems to think that tomorrow's D-day... Are we all going to get an e-mail at a certain hour? Guess we'll see...
