About to throw up! HELP ME!

Published

Hello hello!

I just got back from my second attempt at the nclex-rn.

75 questions and I am pretty sure I failed. I had 76 questions last time so it all seems too familiar.

Has anyone ever heard of someone not getting any SATA's?!?

I didn't have any so I am sure I bombed it. I felt like the questions were all too easy, even though I obviously was getting them wrong. I only had a few priority and absolutely no med calculations but tons of meds I've never heard of?

Please give me some encouragement to take this thing a third time. I am so down about it and wonder if I should change professions. Ugh how did I graduate from nursing school and I can't pass this exam?

HELP!!!! PLEASE!!!!!

Thanks again for the support ... it is really helping me feel better!

I hate to assume anything before I get true results.

I'll keep ya posted as soon as I know.

Thank you, thank you and best wishes for everyone else who is waiting for results and has yet to take the nclex!

I had to take the NCLEX after I let my license lapse in 1991. I had practiced for about 12 yrs. I took the test last Friday and had 88 questions. only 3 SATA, one was so incredibly easy. I didn't have any math calculation ( math is one of my strengths). I, only had, 3 maybe 4 med questions. And of those, 2 were on the same med......TV med too.

I had a lot of prioritizing, who would should you see first, what action should the nurse do 1st, what response is the most appropriate, what action, statement indicates nurse should intervene, what blank would indicate to the nurse that teaching was effective.

I left not knowing how I did. I was hoping for only 75 questions but that number came and went then I got this sinking feeling that I was going to be answering 265 q. But I didn't.

I studied for 2 months. I needed to make up for being gone so long.

I wish I could say I understand how this test works. I don't pretend to understand how the computer can pick a question based on your previous answer and that some get no meds, SATA's or very few meds. Just based on others who have taken the exam and what their exam was like, there doesn't seem to be any pattern to determine if one passed or failed.

So just hang in there and don't make any assumptions on how your exam went. Don't be premature with your "I failed".

Priority questions are actually what you want to see on your exam.

Best of luck to you.

Hi Serena,

I read your message and wanted you to know that I hear you and am sending positive thoughts your way! I can understand why you are nervous, but try and think positive. I think it is VERY POSSIBLE that you PASSED. :) I felt the same way when I took mine last month as it shut off at 75 and I hated the majority of my questions. I cried the entire drive home! So...good can and does happen. Trust in yourself girlfriend! Heck...you made it through nursing school which is grueling...so you obviously are smart and courageous! Hang in there and stay positive.

Let me know how it goes for you. Will keep you in prayers and thoughts!

If you take the time to do some reading here, you will find quite a few in the past day or two that did not get any SATAs and they passed.

SATA questions are only a format style and do not determine level of question or anything else.

Best of luck to you. I would encourage you to wait until you actually get your results before deciding that you need to start to prepare again.

be positive! i'm sure you passed the exam...

Thanks Suzanne! Yes, I did notice that lately, a lot of us have been noticing there are fewer SATA's. I guess they try different approaches to get different statistics.

I hope that my state of Delaware posts results on the weekend so I don't have to wait until Monday to find out. :)

Thank you! That was very sweet of you and it brought a smile to my face!

Thank you everyone for the support .. allnurses.com has seen me through two nclex exams now and I am glad it's not going anywhere. It's a great support group!

I'll definitely let you know what happens ... keep praying!

Hi, Remain positive and Keep your head up! I will keep you in my prayers. Let us know how it goes!

Hi everyone....I wish all of you luck that are waiting for results. I took the exam again today for the 3rd time. I had 82 questions. I felt like I knew what the questions were but who knows if I picked the correct answer. I am so tired of studying. I have done everything there is to do to pass but I am just NOT a test taker. I think you should also be tested on the floor with hands on. I already looked to see if results were up even though I know they wont be there. I Hate they make you wait for results, especially if you take it on a Friday you have to wait until Monday. Grrrrrrr

good luck mothergoose

I Passed...... I am so happy. Thank you for all the encouraging words. Thank you Thank you Thank you.
