Ok so I failed the NCLEX back in Feb. and I am about to take it again on May 3rd! I'm not trying to be a "Debbie Downer" but my stomach is in a million knots, I've lost my appetite, and getting very anxious. I've been trying to think positive and stay calm but i'm having a hard time. I have been taking the Kaplan online program since the week I failed the NCLEX. I feel that the course has been helpful...but I can't get over the fact I was the one of two people that passed my college's exit exam out of 32 people and I failed the first time and now the test is harder. Help...Any advise would be appreciated!!!

Just study the Kaplan questions... It was the most helpful to me. I found that the NCLEX was more psychosocial than anything.

Just study to the best of your ability and take the exam. Most likely you will succeed this time. If not, take it again. You will pass as long as you don't give up.
Thanks ladies! I know I should just calm down, study hard, and think positive...that's just easier said than done but I think I'm doing somewhat better...it's just stressful!:hdvwl:

Hey, just to let you know, I failed the first time and know how it feels. I have a lot on my plate. But keep your chin up. I failed the first of February and then retook it the beginning of April and passed. I also did the Kaplan online, but the difference was that me and a classmate studied together and made a structured plan and held each other responsible for completing the material before we meet. It worked out really well for us. Just keep telling yourself that you can do it and you can do anything. When you go take the test again just sit and make yourself relax and read the questions very carefully. The first time I took the NCLEX I got 75 questions and the second time I got 265. So just know that you know the material and work through the questions on Kaplan and review the questions that you missed. Try to go through all of the QBank questions and work on your critical thinking skills and you will be fine. Good luck and hope this helps.
Thanks Lizapadgett! I too the 1st time taking it only had 75 questions! I have taken all of the q-bank questions so far and I am now on taking all of the ones that I got wrong my 1st time around. I also have only taken 2 of the practice tests...so I haven't gotten to the 265 test yet or the test that you take at the end of the course to see how much better or worse you are doing! Thanks for your encouraging words!
Keep going over the questions and try to figure out why they picked the answer the did. I did think that the second time was harder but I feel that I was better prepared since I went over all of the Kaplan q-bank questions, test trainers, and the diagnostic and readiness test. Here is an alternative website some classmates found that is by the same people that write the NCLEX I thought you might find interesting. I did NOT use it though. http://ncsbn.hivelive.com/hives/534b38552a/summary hope this will help and good luck with everything.
