Hello everyone!
I'm sorry to bother you guys but I really need some advice. Next year I'm taking the "NET EXAM" and "Hesi Exam". My problem is the reading portion on the NET exam. The math and english section isn't difficult for me to complete on time. As some of you guys are aware in the reading section the test ask 33 questions and you have to complete it in 30 minutes. My dilemma is that last time I took the exam I only completed 10 question in 30 minute:banghead:. My question is how can I complete over 20 questions and feel confident with my choice? I've been studying and things are not looking good so far. Sometimes when I practice on the reading I still can't get all my choices before time is out. I really need some good advice. I'm very worry.

Have you tried taking practice exams from a study guide and/or online? If you haven't, try doing that and time yourself, gradually you'll begin to read faster and understand more quickly so that you can feel confident about your answers.
Also, when approaching the paragraph read the question first and then read the paragraph that way during your reading you'll have an idea of what you're looking for. I hope this helps you!

Don't read too far into the questions. The questions are based on the text that you read...nothing more nothing less. It seems, to me anyway, that that is where you may be getting hung up. I agree with taking some practice exams to improve you test taking skills in this area. The practice tests don't even have to be NET related. The format, not the info, appears to be your nemesis. You first instinct on answering the question is usually correct. Don't be so concerned with putting down the wrong answer. Be confident that you can ace the test. Good luck!
Thank You for the advice!!! I shouldn't go to far with the exam questions because the answer will be on the text i'm reading. Do you have any advice on how I could answer the question any faster?
Thank You!

Figure on average you have 1 minute per question. do not spend any more time than that. make the best guess and come back to it if you have time. CSANTOS NET guide is great help as it raised my score 10 points from 81-91. I got a 85 on the reading. I found that the ERI practice test helped A LOT. Also the computer version seemed to have a little shorter passages. Hope this helps

What is it that is slowing you down the most? The reading portion or the question portion? If it is the reading that is slowing you down, I would suggest that you spend more of your spare time and/or study time focused on reading. The more you read the faster you will read. If it is the questions that are slowing you down I would also recommend not reading too deep into the question.
Thanks for the advice! I can pretty much say reading the passage is what slowing me down.
When I take the math and english portion of the test I'm relax and I will do it good but when I go to the reading section my heart start pumping faST. I start feeling anxious and for some reason I loose my focus on the reading portion.
Do you have any advice on how I could answer the question any faster? Thank You!
Start by eliminating the choices you know to be wrong. This will give you three, possibly only two selection to chose from. If you still have issues with reading comprehension, look for support to improve that skill. Your moving in the right direction...keep your self confidence high. Don't fail before you start. You can do this!
