Hi, I'm new to the site....
I am wondering if anyone could shed some light on some questions I have...I'm considering moving to the Southern Calif. region, in Orange county somewhere...What is the employment like there for LPN's? I have Long term care and Psychiatric med experience. I have been an LPN for two years and have been in Psych ever since...My long term care exp. is recent and is a second job..I have also worked at the Women's prison here for about 6months. The avg. wage here is between $15- 18 hour...I know the cost of living is probably double there...but need to know what an LPN with my experience could make there in So. Cal..
Thanks,

You will find most jobs in SoCal for LVNs fall into the pay range that you mention. A few go higher, but you have to really look for those jobs. A trend I've noticed with employers who disclose their rates in ads on the internet, is that they are decreasing the rate. One employer used to advertise $17-$20 for LVNs, now their ads say $17-$18. Yet another used to say $16-$20, now it is $15-$16, and $14 for a night shift job. You just have to scout around for the jobs that pay well. HTH

I was going to work in orange county. The several jobs I applied for were around what you make now. And yes the cost of living in orange county is very high.
I decided to stay where I was at. Good luck! Hopefully you can find something that works for you.
Thank you for your help! It is hard to find employer who disclose their rates....so...I'll keep looking!
Thanks again,
