I'm scheduled to take my ACNP-AG boards through the AACN in a few weeks. Has anyone taken it recently? If so, how is the test layed out? Is it all multiple choice? Also, are there specific drug dosing questions? I can't seem to find any information regarding the test. Any suggestions would be great.
Hi All!
I am also registered for the AACN ACNP-AG exam and I was wondering what you guys thought of BoardVitals or ExamEdge and if you have used their test banks? I have reviewed the AACN prep course and completed the 50 question practice and as you all know, there is not much in the way of prep material that is specific to the AACN exam. I am also a CCRN and I was wondering if you all think the exam is similar? I appreciate any feedback!!
Thanks!!
Hi there! The exam is very straight forward...I passed with plenty of room to spare.....a lot like the CCRN in the way the questions are built...stick to basic materials and really review blueprint they give you on AACN for format and you'll do great! I did board vitals and exam edge....didn't find them nearly as helpful as reviewing the CCRN book and taking the practice test offered by AACN. You'll do great!
Hey rtwumbarima, I'll be taking the AACN exam in a couple weeks. Any advice? I have briefly reviewed the Burns AACN Essentials of Critical Care Nursing, went through Barkley review prep materials over 6x, the review that comes with AACN and scoring well on the practice exams. Any feedback would be helpful, thanks!
I took it. Not bad at all. AACN has a practice test setup that you can do online. I would HIGHLY encourage you to do it. I did not do a review course. I did go through some sample test questions from FNP review books too (even though I did acute care certification). It was totally fine. You don't have to spend a fortune on a review course. Just do the sample questions given on AACN website and review books and study what you aren't very comfortable with. You'll be fine.
