I'm scheduled to take my ACNP-AG boards through the AACN in a few weeks. Has anyone taken it recently? If so, how is the test layed out? Is it all multiple choice? Also, are there specific drug dosing questions? I can't seem to find any information regarding the test. Any suggestions would be great.
How were the questions? Were they more clinical?
A lot of scenario type questions.. Don't expect many "memorization" type questions. Dont want to intimidate you, just wanted to give a heads up. Also just as an aside, I love being an NP - it is a better fit for me by far than bedside nursing ever was! So you've chosen a great profession!
Just took ACNPC-AG through AACN and passed first attempt!
There are questions for cardiac surgery and management. Also quite a few ventilator questions. There are also good number of ethical questions but not too complicated. I studied their review course and "PASS CCRN" book especially for management of patients after cardiac surgery. If you are a cardiac surgery nurse it would not be that hard but it was little overwhelming for me to understand the concepts. Finally its all done!!! Good luck to everyone who decides to take this exam. Good thing is if you do not pass you can take it 4 times a year without much waiting period or CEUs except whatever it takes to re-apply which is$200 and 1-2 weeks.

Hello Dr. KP,
I haven't taken the exam yet. I was trying to get insight before the exam to tailor my studying. Good luck on your exam.
