AACC Spring 2012 hopefuls?

Published

Hello fellow MD nurses!

I'm just looking to see if there are any prospective Spring 2012 students at AACC? I'm finishing up A&P2 this summer and will be putting my application in in the fall. Anyone take the TEAS yet? Any advice? I'll probably take mine in August when I'm done with classes so I can focus on studying for that as opposed to my other classes.

Did they say how many spots there are exactly? Or does anyone on here know? I know they added the 16 hybrid, but how many traditional spots are there? I turned my application in on Wednesday the 8th, so I hope I got mine in just in time. Fingers crossed and good luck to everyone!!

I'm not quite sure what they plan on doing because at the orientation the director said she thinks they might only do 72 seats or 70 something anyways for spring and then the 88 seats for Fall. Not sure why they wouldn't just do the 88 seats for both Spring in Fall. Maybe it just depends on how many applicants they actually get. She said that they always have more applicants for the Fall term.

That's including the Hybrid seats.

Hmmm... Well hopefully I turned mine in before it reached the 70-something number...

I was under the impression that there were 88 seats- 72 traditional and 16 hybrid.

Did anyone else request the hybrid program?

I was under the same impression until she said that at the Orientation. I requested the Hybrid Program.

I figured since the hybrid is first come first serve too, that my chances are low. If I'm offered a spot, though, that'll create a whole new set of circumstances to ponder...

I just wish these emails would come out already... Just tired of waiting... Is anybody out of county applying??

I don't think I'm disciplined enough for the hybrid program. I'm better face to face lecture.

I'm hoping I get the Hybrid, if I don't I'll have to start looking for daycare for my boys.

They have onsite day care at AACC. I haven't looked in to it too much, but it seems reasonably priced and you know that it'll be quality care because it's through the college.

Right now I've got my application in at UMB also. I'm hoping to get in to their traditional BSN program. Given the options of the ADN program at AACC and the BSN program at UMB, I'd go with UMB. But if I get a slot in the hybrid ADN program at AACC, that might work better with my schedule by far. Hmmm… decisions, decisions. I'll wait until I get to that bridge to cross it, though. There's a chance that I might not get in to either program for Spring 2012!

Yeah I looked into the daycare at AACC but the kids have to be potty trained to be able to go there. My boys are 2 1/2 and 1 yrs. old so that won't work for me. Everywhere has a wait list too which sucks!

I remember you saying you are military. Do you live on Fort Meade?
