I just don't understand!!
Why are patients using the ED for a simple headache just to get??? Tylenol. That stuff doesn't even work. It's more like placebo pills!
Insurance pays $5,000 for a freaking headache
My insurance rates go up because you decided to read in the dark.

Hi, my emotions are overwhelmed and lacerated from reading all these posts. should I go to an ER, will they activate psychiatric level I trauma? I am allergic to morphine, toradol, codeine, zofran, tylenol, and oh, narcan.

Sometimes, headaches aren't emergencies, but sometimes they are. Just because that's the main symptoms doesn't mean something else is going on. I've had pt's come in with headaches and after a CT they are diagnosed with brain bleeds, tumors, CVA's, etc. Had one last night who came in with a headache, was up walking and talking and such, within 1 hr when CT was back she was seizing, no airway and had a subarachnoid hemorrhage. We intubated and sent her to a higher level of care facility.
I wonder if less people would use the ER if they had to wait longest to be seen for non critical stuff....oh wait they just yell at the triage nurse.
ill never forget the small finger lac where the 20 something year old girl had to wait 45 minutes with her 10/10 pain to get it glued. She was hysterical and crying. Then a gsw got dropped off no she still had the nerve to ask why the wait was so long. I wanted to suggest she go get shot if she really wanted to be seen that quickly. Held my tongue tho cuz I like my job. The motherly glare worked well enough to get her to stop asking....
