A Cartoon A Day

Published

A cartoon a day, from a retired nurse/practicing artist resulting from spontaneous drawings, seeing things in scribbles, quick ideas, esoteric references, or what have you, with no intention whatsoever, except to be expressive and self-entertaining.

I got tired of the daily cartoons, so I decided to just post one now and again.

I didn't get tired of them but then I am not creating them - merely enjoying them. I appreciate everything your talent shares with us Davey.

You do you.👍👍

You know, that realization could be rather terrifying

Yes, just a bit...

Yes, and thank you both for your involvement, support, and comments, @sirI and @GrumpyRN.

I agree with you both, facing the darkness, the unknown, ourselves, can be rather terrifying and you both got the essence of the statement. One member on another website responded to the work, "Thank God".

I didn't ask the member why they said that because I believe them to be a shallow, attention-seeking individual and their answer would either be trite or stupid.

I never tired of art, but I do tire of techniques or methods if they become too routine or repetitive, as in the daily cartoon thing. One of the attractions with art is the experimentation and endless possibilities.

This work is such an example, in that I had to download the letters, edit them, count the number of each letter, copy them, arrange them, and then work backwards in creating the left-to-right format of the animation. It was a technique I've used before, but it was also mentally stimulating, with different information to be arranged.

I think I know what you might be saying ...

As for me, without detailing the task, I tire of the routine and it is no longer special, so I get bored. But, in the end, I realize that while I am bored,  I'm satisfied with my life.

Kinda oxymoronic, huh?
