What does everyone think about taking A&P 2 in a 8 week summer semester? Is A&P 2 harder or easier than A&P 1? Because in ENGL 1301 & 1302, 1302 was waaaay easier than 1301 (I don't know if anyone noticed that?) I am in A&P 1 right now but so far I have an A, and plan on finishing with an A). Or should I take BIOL 2420 in the 8 week summer semester? (if it's available, not sure yet). Please give me your opinions which I'll take in consideration, thanks!
Oh my gosh, I did A&P in a 6 week and I WISH I had done A&P I that way.
The focus of only taking one class and the pressure to deal with the information as it comes ended with me making an A in the course.
I'd say the only downside is the info dumping that can occur. Make sure you revisit the material often (until you're in nursing school) for me I was a memorize and dump student and I am having to refresh myself on a ton of that material now that I'm prepping for acceptance into N.S>
Are you considering TWO 5 unit courses at the same time? I would NOT do it. I took two three-unit courses at a time this past summer but when I took one 5 unit course, it was overwhelming as it was.[/quote']Well this past summer semester I did Psyc 2301, Engl 1301, Engl 1302, & Chem 1405 that's a total of 13 credit hours and I managed to get a B in all of my classes and to tell you the truth I really didn't apply myself to the classes ( I never studied or read my chapters) BUT I have thought about it and know what I'm going to do. In the summer semester I am going to take A&P 2 or Micro whichever is available (but only ONE of those) and a 3 credit hour class not sure which one yet but yes basically that combination.... GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!
Good day, J3w3lz88:
I'm taking Microbiology and AP2 now in a normal 15/16 week semester (15 weeks given spring break is in the mix); it is doable, but extremely demanding in terms of doing well in both classes (if it matters, I'm taking four classes in total - AP2, Life Cycle Development, Microbiology, and Nutrition -- even if it was just AP2 and Micro, given one can only study so much, it would still be the same difficulty level). If it were the exact same material, I would not attempt both in an 8 week summer course.
Only you and God know what you are capable of truly handling. If you know the professors involved (especially if you've had them before in other classes), and are very disciplined and organized, and believe you can do it -- will stick with it even when it gets very hard -- then go for it. Otherwise, either take both in a 15/16 week format, or one at a time.
Thank you.

Yeah I hear you. We had a lot of people in our summer A&P who were failing and would complain endlessly after pop quizzes about how we don't have time to read before class cause we have kids/jobs/other classes etc. They simply were not willing to put in the work and still expected to be handed good grades. So really evaluate whether you can put in the effort. If you have a family/job that will get in the way, don't take the class. It's that simple.
