Ok, no one has started this yet, so I guess I will. I start A&P I on January 18th, lab and lecture.
Here are a few good websites I have found...some are basic, some may be more indepth than your instructor asks for.....BUT it gives you a little more to look over before class starts next month! :) ....Never forget the website for your actual book too!!!!!!
GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU

Hi and welcome, blackbird...hope your class is going well.
Okie2, I hope everything works out with your hubby's work.
PhoenixGirl: My girls are 13 and 7.
sp1nter: I will be taking the summer course for A&P 2, but I didn't want the stress for A&P 1. Good luck to you!
...back to studying.
Hi all.
I'm commencing A&P 1 in February but I won't be dissecting any animals thank God, just the book.
I had my first A&P class on Saturday from 8.30am-3.10pm - lab first then lecture. My professor is a physician. He is patient, sympathetic and friendly. I was so relieved after the class. :)
Probably we won't dissect anything. He likes to use the books, and he wants us to study and understand everything that is printed boldface in the books. We will have 6 exams plus quizzes before classes. Actually, I like this, because it makes me study A&P every day, and I know that I will have a solid base for A&P 2.
Fun2Care, I think our classes are in the same rooms. North Lake C, upstairs lab and downstairs lecture.

Did my 1st exam for Lab today. I was surprised how easy it was, becuase I was done in a few minutes. It was just picking the right names for the body parts that was on the list for this unit. I guess it's good that we take our test on the computer, so our instructor can only make our test only so tricky. And yes, I got a 100%.
Now back to studying for my other 3 tests.
Im about to cry,scream..something.I went to my first night of Anatomy lecture and lab.I arrive and find out the first three classes have a sub. A sub that doesnt know ANYTHING about anatomy(she teaches earth science). The teacher left her with powerpoint.I know what to study for lecture. But,we didnt even do lab tonight. She asked us if we wanted to go home early.Of course most the class said yes:uhoh3:
I am in such shock. He has us doing 3 chapters this week.
My hubby said I should contact administration about this.I dont want my name involved.
I feel like Ive been hit with a mack truck!!
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Amber
Hello!
I am also taking A&P I this sememster...
I was just wondering how much time everyone has been spending studying and their process...
For instance I have breen reading and making fronts to notcards, doing lab work preperation for class (we have to turn in excercise prior to class) and then with additional time I work on the back of the notecards...
Pasha :)
Congrats! I wish my lab practicals were on computer!
Good luck on the rest of the tests!

Well, your instructor will adjust accordingly, so don't get too worried about it. Spend your time studying your regional terms and directions (cephalic region is superior to the patellar region). Know the difference between Physiolgy (functions) and Anatomy (structure). Also, study up on the planes/sectional cuts (sagittal, frontal, etc.) If you know these already by the time you have your first lab, you will be ahead.
If you have a lab book, start going reading over the information. My class is skipping the chemical and cellular sections, but yours may not. Therefore, other than the above info, it may be a good thing to know about these things, as well as the microscope. :)
We didn't have lab on the first day, even though we were supposed to. All is well, but I can understand your being put out by a sub that doesn't know A&P very well :angryfire . However, things happpen that some people can't control. It will all work out in the end. Good luck to you! :)

I spend ALMOST every waking minute studying for A&P1, but that is what I feel "I" have to do.
I have made notecards as well. Also, we downloaded lecture notes from our class ecampus, and I added the actual class notes I took to those. That way I study anything and everything that may even remotely be on the test.
A&P 1 is a bunch of memorization, so constantly studying is better than a cram session. GET IT IN THAT LONG TERM MEMORY!!! :selfbonk:
Good luck! :icon_hug:

I can't do that, because I'm in an online class. I have no idea how many we start with vs. how many that drop. BUT! I do have to say, I was totally surprised at the amount of people that dropped out of my chem class/lecture. Especially the people that dropped towards the end there! Why waste all that time and not just stick it out? I know that I'll stick out my classes to the end, even if I fail I have to stick it out. If worse comes to worse, I'd just take the class again and have the edge of being familiar with it next time around.
