Hello all....
I was just wondering how many times can you take A&P? is it only 2x? I took it the first time got a D...i had just had a baby and i shouldnt of done it and on top of that it was a summer course. I then took it again the following semeter and got a D+ i did great in the class but our lab was just a final that was it!!! so that killed me. I really want to apply to RN programs do i have to wait 10 yrs to take it again? If i apply at another school and redo A&P do you think i can just leave out the school i took a&p and got those grades? Im desperate

Your best option is to ask your school the policy on repeating classes. I am not sure how your school considers candidates for the nursing program, but I would think the science classes are important. A higher grade may increase your chances of getting into the program.

i think it would be best to talk to your school and ask them this question directly. if you omit it from your record you risk the school finding out and excluding your from a potential future program-they take stuff like that very seriously.

You can retake science classes up to three times before you have to wait a couple of years to retake it. Some schools let you retake them in 5 years. I've never heard of a ten year wait. If you only took it twice, I'd retake it (but only in the Fall or Spring semesters and only on campus!!! You don't want to press your luck) After you get at least a C you can take the second half of A&P and try to get your highest score! Don't give up just try to get A's and B's in Micro, Chemistry and your other prereqs you need to get into a nursing program. Don't give up if this is something you really want to do. :redbeathe:nurse::redbeathe

You can retake it, Nursing schools take your highest grade, but it may kill your GPA in the process. Its a good idea to check with the Nursing schools you want to attend, in order to figure out if they will accept it too. Good luck!
