Ok, so I am registering for A&P I next semester (SOO very excited about this class!!) I've posted a thread before similar to this, but this is a little more detailed. I work a full-time job, and am taking A&P I and sociology next semester. I have to work in the morning of the days I go to class, so my A&P options are as follows:
Option #1:
MW 3:30-5:20 and W 5:30-7:20
Now, this class in particular is at a different campus (where the offer allied health programs, but not nursing so A&P is geared more toward the allied health students), and the instructor for this class, from what i hear from other classmates, is not a good instructor at all. The lab portion of this course follows the lectures I'm assuming, so the lab would be the 5:30-7:20 part.
Option #2:
MW 3:30-5:20
S 8am-11:50am (this is only 1-2 saturdays per month)
Now, this particular class is at the campus where the nursing program is, so it is more geared toward nursing students. Also, according to my advisor, the instructor of this course is one of the best instructors for A&P period apparently. I don't like that we have to do dissection of a cat at this campus (and not at the other), as i would rather dissect a cadaver (it would be more interesting..and its going to very hard for me to open up an animal, but a cadaver i do not have a problem with. weird, i know!) However, the lab for this course is on those select saturdays. I'm worried that that long of a lab, I will be cramming in too much information at once.
SO..my question for you guys is: would you recommend taking opt #1, with the crappy instructor and not cramming in lab and all the information in on a saturday or would you recommend to take this course with the really good instructor, and do the lab on saturdays? I'm just terrified to make a wrong decision here and kick myself in the butt once I get into the class. Just wanted to get some opinions on this. As i said, I do work full-time ( and will work 1/2 days on the days I have class), have no kids, live with my boyfriend, so I really don't have any other distractions going on (besides my friends of course)..but they understand :)
Thanks!!
Thanks so much for your help! :)

Having taken A&P with a crappy instructor, I would advise AGAINST doing that. I think your best bet is option #2.

I would definitely take the course with the better instructor. You will learn much more and in the process, probably end up enjoying your time in the class. I'm envious, though, that you may have the opportunity to dissect cadavers...even during UG days at a very large university, students were not offered that option. Lucky you! :)

I would do the option with the better teacher. I just finished Sociology online, this class for me was hardly any effort and I got an A-. It should be a good match up for A&P I. Good luck

I would definitely take the A&P class with the better professor. Our labs run weekly for 2 hr 45 min a class, so I think you'll learn far more in your lab time than you think you will. You are better off working a little harder now than being overwhelmed in nursing school because your A&P might be a little lacking -

The Saturday option, definiately go with the good prof.
I just finished a dissection lab (of a cat) and do not think the longer class will be a factor for you because dissecting is so different from lecture or models.
