So, I passed A&P 1 in my summer 1 class!!:yeah: I was so excited.:D I am not gonna lie though, it was really hard. It was done in 4 weeks. I had the opportunity to take A&P 2 for summer 2, which would have been 4 weeks also. BUT, I decided not to do that. I am going to take it this fall in which it will be spread out over about 4 months. Along with A&P 2, I am going to be taking Pharmacology and Nutrition. Has anyone taken pharmacology and nutrition along with a&p 2? I don't want to overwhelm myself, I know I can do it. I just want to get some of y'all's views and what you guys thought of each of these courses? Thanks for any replies!!

I took all of those classes in Spring semester, it was pretty hard but not impossible. Pharmacology is a very hard class and I think it's better to take after both A&P are done because pharmacology is all about how the drugs work in the your system and it's very complicated. I managed to take all of these courses together but it was very hard. I would prob. advice you take ap2 first and then follow with pharmacology while its still fresh. :p

I am curious. Why do you need to take pharmacology and nutrition? If you just want to be a RN, You don't need these classes.

Where are you going to school for RN, that nutrition isn't required?

Nutrition is required for just about every RN program in my area. (Pittsburgh)

Not at Daytona State College, Florida.:D

Umm...most nursing programs I know of require both pharm and nutrition.

I took Pharmacology and Holistics/Nutrition together and studied at least 8 hours per day, everyday, rarely less, but many times more than that. For my finals, I stayed up for 40 hours straight to study for both exams (me and Red Bull became real good friends). A&P I & II were a breeze compared to these two classes. I would suggest taking the A&P first, before taking the other two classes. Actually, I'm pretty sure at our school, we have to take all of our A&P courses before we can take pharma and hol./nutr.; maybe it's a good idea to double check what your school requires.

It is a REQUIREMENT to take these courses at my school. So whatever it takes to get accepted into the program and to fulfill my dream, I am gonna do!!

WOW! That is alot of studying...Kudos to you for sure!!! I went to register the other day for A&P 2 and the counselor asked me if I wanted to go ahead and take Nutrition and Pharmacology....so I went ahead and registered for that as well. I am hoping to be accepted into the January program...and thought having those under my belt and out of the way would help....Hope I made the right decision. Thanks for the reply! :D

Here in FL I have noticed that only the BSN programs seem to require nutrition as a prereq, and only one of them (Florida State) also required pathophys. ADN programs generally don't really require it for admission for some odd reason.
