A & P 2 and Nursing I at the same time, am I that CRAZY?????

Published

Hi, Everybody. I need some advice. PLEASE HELP. Im a 23 year mother of 3 year old twins. I plan on taking Anatomy and Physiology 2 along with Nursing I, starting in Jan.2005. Is this impossible??? Yes, I am a mother of 3 year old twins, but I have the fortune to not have to work, although I WILL BE BROKE. I have a WONDERFUL support system. Many students at my school have been telling me Im going to fail, and I need to just take them separate. At my school A & P 2 must be done before Nursing I or you can take it at the same time. Basically, with my hard work, dedication, not having to work, and excellent support system is this possible. I really want to do this, I hate to rush it but sometimes I feel like you gotta do what you gotta do even though I know I will be VERY VERY VERY VERY STRESSED!!!!

I'm taking the first level of Nursing (Fundamentals + MedSurg/OB Clinicals) and A&P II together. It's definitely a lot of studying but I've got a solid A both A&P II lab and lecture and a C+ (which I've worked my butt off for!) in Fundamentals lecture. Clinicals are solid for me so far but we have not been officially graded on much. I think the key is scouting out your instructor for A&P II. Ask other students who they took, if they learned anything, if they would recommend the instructor, and then ask them about the instructor's teaching style (Were all tests essays? Mult. choice? Fill-in-the-blank? Did he always run over in lecture? Was he hard to understand? Did he refuse to explain thing any further? Etc.). I had the choice between 3 A&P II instructors that fit into my schedule. I took the guy who was most detailed and particular but who was also an "excellent teacher" so that I'd learn a ton. I didn't take the really hard unpassable lady or the really easy pushover lady who always lets class out early.

At my college, it's mandatory that first level Nursing students take A&P II at the same time unless they have already taken it before they make it into the program. You'll do fine. Just prioritize and put Nursing first (if it's as difficult as my course!).

i'm taking A&P 1 and Nursing 1 next semester and I am scared! lol I care very much about my grades and am trying to make myself understand that I may not get the grades I want. I'm trying to convince myself that as long as I try my hardest, I should be happy. We'll see....lol

Good luck!
