A&P 1 lecture or lab? Whats harder?

Published

I am currently taking A&P 1 and am curious about what section is harder. They both seem somewhat easy right now but I'm only like 2 weeks into it. And with my schedule I need to know which section I need to study more of. Any input will help. Thank you.

I agree with Passion4Peds. it all just depends on your learning style, either way A&P 1 and 2 are ALL memorization of material (either words in lecture or visuals in lab) and then you just take a test on them. I think lab is easier for me because i am a visual learner rather than just a learner from memorizing words! I went through tons of flash cards in A&P 1 and 2! You will do just fine. It's all memorization like I said and you can do it!

As others have said it can definitely depend on your learning style. I found the labs to be easier because I learn well with a hands-on approach. The lecture has so much information so it's good to find a study strategy that works for you. I liked A+P II much better than I because it was more conceptual, less rote memorization. Good luck in your classes!

Tiffany1579 It can depend on several things. For me in A&P1, lab was easier because it was mostly memorization and I couldn't really find my learning technique for lecture so i would fail those. However, for A&P2, lecture was easier because my class was a hybrid class so i had two different teachers for lecture and lab. My teacher for my lab class was one of those he wanted you to know everything in the class. So somebody on my job suggested I use index cards. I didn't always like writing everything out on those things but in the end they helped me pass the class. So it depends on how you learn, how your teacher is and their teaching style.

Lab was hell in A&P 1, however lecture was pretty easy...

Made A's in both ; )

I'm taking it this semester as well and from what I've heard lecture is pretty difficult because you have to know all the functions, where as in lab it's just repetition.

When I took A&P, it was all combined into 1 grade, but I found lecture harder than lab because with lab I could often use my own body to remember things and point them out to myself and others.

Anyone applying for the RN program in Essex county college this spring for fall 2015?

I took anatomy and physiology separately, but I would say the lecture was tougher. With lab you can visually see everything, and is helpful to take a lot of pictures with your phone. With lecture it's about understanding the functions, which can be a little tough to wrap your head around some of them.
