A&P I Spring 2007 Semster - Welcome!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I will be taking A&P I next semester when I come back from Christmas break for the Spring 2007 semester. I didn't know if someone was going to start a group or not, so I thought I would create a thread to find those of us who have been "getting our feet wet" and are going to start into the fun stuff during the Spring 2007 semester. I look forward to seeing who all will be feeling my pain!

Yes, A&P is a subject that you must stay on top of. One little slip, and you're way behind. I'm on the quarter system, and last week was the midpoint of the quarter. Today during our lab exam, I was amazed at how many students we have left in our class. I know that A&P 1 will not be offered again until the Fall. I feel kinda sorry for the students who felt they had to drop it.

Well, on a lighter note, I got an 88 on last week's lab exam, and a 96 on today's exam!! :roll I am elated!!! The hardest lab exam is next Monday...the muscles of the hand, foot, arm and forearm, and leg. And...we have our chapter test this Thursday. I swear, the studying never ends. I love it!

yeah Im not in danger of failing, I got 104% on the practicum and we'll see what happens with the lecture exam. I just never knew how type A I was until now haha. Other wise Im as sweet as can be.

By the way, I started a study group early on and made practice tests, work sheets, questions to guide the study group, etc. For those of you who havent taken the first test yet and might find the study material handy I think I attached them to this message. I would have posted em sooner but I forgot. Sorry in advance for typos/mistakes.

So Im back to flash cards

I went out and bought Barron's Anatomy Flash Cards at Barnes and Noble. They were only $24 and are in full color. Each card has a picture and numbers pointing to certain body parts. They box contains every body system. I am hoping they will come in handy.

This is what scares me. I have to stay ahead or I could easily fall behind.

I thought Chemistry would be harder than any other class. Boy was I wrong. :chuckle

I'm having a little bit of trouble understanding DNA and it's structure! Honestly, it seems so overwhelming to me!

I'm curious if anyone has any good weblinks to help me understand it a little better? (Or maybe if you could talk with me VIA PM to understand it!!)

I read this part of the chapter 3 times and I'm still not understanding it all!! I mean, I get the Chromatin (I think!) but when I get into the "molecular level" of DNA (Nucleotides and Nitrogenous) I'm just beside myself!!

I would really appreciate any help!

we have just started studying the passive and active processes (diffusion, osmosis, and the cytosis')....can anyone give me a link to something that details it further for me? I've looked in the sticky and didn't find anything I can use. Thanks in advance! :D

You can find a lot of good animations that would help you to visualize the info if you Google 'cellular transport animations' or something similar...

Here's one that may help...

This thursday we get to take our first trip to see the cadavers. Hopefully I won't pass out. :) I heard the room stinks.

Anyways, I got a 96 on my first exam - most of the class got D's !!!!!!!!!

And a 100 on my lab practical

Yay for me :paw:
