Hey everyone, still trying to figure out my schedule. Kind of thinking that my advisor is only suggesting to take certain courses to make the college money, thats my 2 cents anyway. Anywho, I currently work about 40 hours per week, am taking medical terminology as a telecourse, general chemistry, and a reasing/comprehension class online. I've been getting some awesome grades this semester as well. So my question is, next semester, I am signing up for A&P 1, but am wondering if I took general psych or sociology if it would be too much to take with A&P seeing how I work between 38-40 hours per week. Has anyone worked a full-time job, taken A&P along with another class as well? I also work in a nursing home and am around the healthcare atmosphere on a daily basis, so this helps as well. Just wanted to see what you guys thought. Thanks for your help!!! :):)
Hi!
You pretty much can take most of the pre-reqs online. The only ones that you really cannot take online are the sciences that require you to have a lab. I have taken 3 classes so far online. I have done pretty well but i found it a little harder then in a regular class setting because you have to make your own notes and outlines and if you are outlining the wrong stuff then you will be studying the wrong stuff. I had to drop my psych online class last semester because it was alot of information and i just needed to have it in a class setting. I am going to take Eng 102 with a&p in the summer!
Oh really? None of the online classes at my school require any physical attendance (Except a few on the first day of school to go over syllabus but even that is optional). I didn't know not everyone had that luxury :)
some classes require proctored exams. my micro is online and the final exam is proctored.

You can even take the science classes w/labs online. my AP w/lab is online and I'm taking my microbiology w/lab online next semester.
WOW i wish I could take my sciences online. I go to Camden County College in Blackwood, NJ and you cannot take the A & Ps online. What school do you go to?
My AP is thru a community college in ks ...labette, and my micro is thru Edukan which is also in kansas. If you search on Allnurses you will see a lot of students from all over take the edukan courses.

Neither is the case for these particular classes. The tests are online as usual but you have to sign a pledge of honesty that you will not reference any outside material during the exam.
I am taking A & P I and English 101 this semester and it is very doable. From the other prenursing students I have talked to at my school, Sociology was pretty easy (I am going to take it as a five week summer class next year).I took an online class this summer and most of the tests and quizzes were in the testing center at the school, so no open book for those. But some quizzes we could do at home.
I totally agree, for me Sociology has been the easiest class besides computer applications that was just a joke.
